Gig/Revya (and any other varitation of it, because there's LOTS)
I love it, I adore it, and yet all at the same time, I'm getting so sick of it

It might have a bit to do with the fact that both of them(mostly Gig) TOTALLY OUTSHUN the rest of the cast, many of which I just so happen to like as much as those two, well okay, maybe not so much with Danette or Tricia. And also mostly having to do with the fact that, generally speaking, the ways it's protrayed is either a total hit, or a total miss.

Just in general, not all pairings are created equal, and I'm so tired of people trying to make it work that way anyway. And when they do it's like a trainwreck waiting to happen. And I'm also so sick of people trying to make pairings go the whole nine yards(candy, flowers, hearts, porn, "MYLOVEFORYOUISLIKEALOVELYRIVEROFLOVE", etc.). I think it's prefectly REASONABLE to like someone and not having to go that far just to show it. Fuck, that's partly what steered me away from Lavi/Allen.

That brings up another thing too. It's also bothersome how:

Vast Majority of Yaoi(AND Yuri) Shippers: Do it because it's "hawt"
Vast Majority of Het Shippers: Do it because they don't have enough common sense to think of other options. So they take what's stuffed into their face (Seriously people. Inuyasha/Kagome, Ed/Winry, Ichigo/Rukia, Allen/Lenalee. IT'S ALL THE SAME FUCKING THING. JUST WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS)

If you're a free thinker and don't fall into either catagory, you're pretty much screwed for life. -.-

And... I could go on, but I won't

Other news: My grandmother DID actually leave today, thank god x_x

LOL that yaoi shippers thing is so true. D: I hate it. My OTP from Naruto first started because "they were the only two good looking dudes in Akatsuki" but damn it, their dynamic is so much more. Tsk. But to each their own. D:

Glad your grandmother left ^^

I will admit, some pairings are much "appealing for the eyes" than some others (like I like my Elrics when they're mostly fleshy). But I don't completely go for it if it's just purely fanservice, in any shape or form x_x

Oh man. You should see how I feel about being a Hazel fan in the Saiyuki fandom....90% of the fandom hates the guy and generally won't read a single thing if he's mentioned (I'm lucky that I have a few friends on the flist that are willing to write fics about him) and on top of it....I'm a crack pairing nut. Especially the tasty crack that just works.

Ah Saiyuki~ I kinda wished that series was easier to find(first season anime, anyway, have the first few volumes though). It was pretty cool, but yeah it's fandom worried me.

I have my fair share of crack pairings too. Which can be just as random as the people in them. Although it's usually a joke me and 1-2 other people might now and get D:

Pretty much all of my pairings I like though have something to do with RPing. Which I think is what the problem is, because the way I've gotten it to work is probably different from how someone else did. And again, it gets full of refrences/jokes/whatever that only me and some other person would get.

And really, honestly I think the whole fun of pairings is just GETTING there and building up to it, not what happens after. It's just boring at that point, it's almost like beating a game for the first time using hacked level 100s. What do you actually GET out of it? D:
