grifstarHey, there might ACTUALLY be hope still for this piece of junk..
See, the original plan was between burned DVDs and my brother's external HD (which he still needs to clean out >.>;) , get EVERYTHING I want to keep into one place, and probably backed up. And then probably chuck out one of my HDs(seeing how it's completely useless).
First off, the computer didn't want to boot this morning.... again. Something I THOUGHT we fixed yesterday. But after some tweaking, hoping I knew what I was doing (because messing with hardware still scares the crap out of me), I found a way to get around it.. Without getting anything screwed up.
So then I try to install my driver... Everything there went smoothly, I thought I was making progress. Then tried resetting the comp and it didn't want to boot AGAIN ~_~. Discovered it gets fussy still when there's a cd inside the driver, and made note of that... After that I try to test-burn a DVD..... For some reason the computer didn't want to install Nero Express, because there's already an order copy of Nero in the system... which is a fat ass lie, becasue it was uninstalled, and yet the program still worked O.o
Eitherway, the old Nero doesn't burn DVDs, I don't have anything else that can make data DVDs.. Plan A was thorted -.-.
BUT! I now found a torrent of a newer Nero, that's going pretty fast(Mininova can have my babies if this works).... IF that goes well I can still install it personally. After that the rest should be pretty easy... I think I'm only really looking at like 15-20 gigs of stuff that I gotta save. The rest will have to be saffriced D: (though it's not really going anywhere, it's just gonna be on left on the HD I'm not going to use anymore)
Plus, I MIGHT be getting a brand new computer about a week from now afterall, if that goes well.

It's about eight years old or so (kinda amazed it actually still works), it's motherboard is obsolete so there's no way to improve much with it externally, I knew it had issues before because of it's age.... and now it's even more bugged up because there used to be another HD attached to it and I think that's probably why it's seeing things that don't really exist anymore -.-;
It's all so complicate D:
