grifstarI HAD MY VERY OWN .HACK MOMENT!!!
It was so cool, funny, yet creepy all at the same time XD;;;
I was with my brother in Deadmines in WoW, TRYING to get that last freakin quest I have there finished.. We get just passed the first miniboss/orge guy and he goes into the next room to round up all the mobs in there...with 1337 level 60 pally skills to show off, and soon we get hit by a bunch of nasty lag spikes(those who dunno what those are it's basically when everything around you just stop and stand there but you can still move due to crappy connection and most likely going LD, and stuff is still happening too but you can't see it nor do anything about it).
Anyway, we get like 3-4 of these, all of only lasting like 3-5 seconds or so.. then suddenly a BIG one. Sooo.... we sat there waiting for it to either go away (most likely deador at least me by now since there's was still a big mob of bandits we were acting), or even just bump us off the server since it looked almost inevitable at this point.
.... Almost a minute goes by and the lag spike is STILL there, and no disconnections. Now I realise that the chat window is still WORKING(which, they never do in these sitsuations). Turn out my brother was in the same exact thing that I was, and we were able to comunicate through the chat window still( XD. Not only that but I finally realised I could move around still(although we couldn't see eachother since the other was still frozen in the lag spike). Anyways, after awhile we try leaving the instance completely and see if zoning out of there might cure it.
........ Eh, I dunno how much of this will make sense to people that haven't played/seen WoW before, but basically instances/dungeons are thier own seprate zone, which you get in and out of by a portal that well... leads into it. And not only that, there's a "fake" entrance just behind that to make it look like you actually just walked in rather than poofed in.
Well..... because the two of us probably were non-existant at this point as far as the server was concerned, the portal leading out of the place didn't accept us, and we instead walked through it and got into the fake side of the portal instead.
WHICH, since it isn't supposed to be physically touched like how we did it, turns out there's nothing underneath it at all and we fell under the world completey =D (and it's a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggg fall I tell ya)
So now we're just floating in space at this point, literally, and 'supposibly' in some really weird area that I wasn't sure of. Hell after we stopped falling our characters disappeared, and couldn't move at all(but still talk)... So the next plan was to now just log out of the game.
...... we couldn't log out, it did nothing when we tried XD
And thus the next plan was to just sort of 'hard boot' the game (minimize and close it from there)... Which at this point, I was amazed it actually worked XD;;. Then later when daring to log back in we were still under the world, but after turning around a couple of times we got back to the Deamines opening O.o *not going to question how that worked*, and stoned home XD
Yeah ......... I'm not going to Deadmines for awhile now, or probably play on that server for that matter XD;;;; (I'm still amazed none of us died either after that long freeze or falling for what had to have taken off 5 zillion HP)
